Ghost peppers, scientifically known as Bhut Jolokia, originate from India. They are named “ghost” due to their ghostly bite that hits hard and then dissipates quickly. One of the hottest chile peppers in the world, Ghost Pepper measures between 850,000 to 1,050,000 SHU. Characterized by their wrinkled, pointed shape, they have a red, yellow, orange, or chocolate color when mature. Despite their intense heat, they have a sweet, fruity, and earthy flavor.
