The Carolina Reaper, developed by Ed Currie in South Carolina, is an extremely hot chili pepper, ranging from 1,400,000 to 2,200,000 SHU. Despite the extremely scorching heat, the Carolina Reaper is surprisingly fruity and sweet. Although some Carolina Reapers can have smooth pods, the majority are gnarled and bumpy. Its tail is sharp and curved.
